Advice

Thank you for having bought a piece of jewellery from the special Rocking Jewellery collection.

Now, it is important to realise that even rockingjewellery is a bit fragile, so please handle it with care!

The ‘original’ Rocking Jewellery 5-stone necklace, made with stainless steel, can be damaged by thoughtless handling.  Don’t ‘fold’ it.

Store your jewellery in a dry environment, preferably in the box, with the tissue paper, not mixed up with other jewellery.

Never leave your jewellery in the bathroom, as a wet environment can damage the leather or the silver/(rose) gold colour.  And never shower with it or have a bath or a swim while wearing your piece of rocking jewellery!

Also be careful when using hairspray or perfume. Chemicals in lotions and perfumes can cause any jewellery to tarnish. Apply them first, let them dry and then put your on your jewellery.

Anti-aging facial skin care products are acid based and should not touch your jewellery (eg a necklace/pendant). A vitamin C cream or glycolic acid cream or retinol product may tarnish any jewellery in a way that is not removable or it may expose the base metal. Use these products at night to avoid them damaging your plated and fine jewellery.

All chains/ear-fittings should be kept in sealed bags as exposure to air can cause oxidisation (this is the case with all (sterling) silver and (rose) gold metals as they contain copper which causes oxidisation).

Bracelets with Petra resin- be aware that plated jewellery will tarnish. How quickly depends a bit on your skin and how you look after it. Don’t wear it when you are sweating, or taking a bath and be careful with body lotion etc.  A way to minimise the tarnish is to polish the back with nail polish and or to carefully clean with a bit of soap and dry afterwards.

Hand dyed parts can stain when wet, so be aware!

Lastly; just check your jewellery from time to time; specially bracelets! Just have a look at all the jump rings-  are they still closed and is there is no damage?  Also be aware that split rings are very safe, but you can be a bit unlucky and hook your self onto something; just be a bit aware while wearing.

And the resin should never be left in the hot sun!

The flower card– the instructions are at the back of your jewellery card. I hope it makes sense that I can’t give any guarantee for flowers to grow. I bought these card and they are handmade and apparently on the handmade cards there is a lot more succesrate then on the machine made cards. Good luck!!
